Upside down cake with European canned peaches



  • 1 can of European canned peaches, drained
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk



  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a round cake pan.
  2. Spread melted butter evenly over the bottom of the pan, then sprinkle brown sugar over the butter.
  3. Arrange peach slices in a single layer over the brown sugar.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. In another bowl, beat granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until creamy. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients alternately with milk.
  6. Pour the batter over the peaches in the cake pan.
  7. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes, then invert onto a serving plate. Serve warm or at room temperature.
